IRS to solid axle swap

01ponyGT i'll check out some places and see how much it would be...but i'm not in a hurry to do it. how many miles are on ur GT. theres 52k on my cobra. we also are goin to have swap tail pipes too.

I've got about 55k on mine, but only bout 15k on the 4.10 gears. No hurry here. I have thought about swapping to the Cobra IRS, but never thought I'd have the resources to do it. If you are seriously interested in doing this, keep me in mind. But as I said, I'm not in a hurry either.

that sounds good, it shouldnt be too much to swap rears...being that we would only be paying the labor fee's . i'll call up laroccas in englishtown nad see what they charge. if the price is right we will do it there cuz they are awesome for doing mustang work. but i'll check some prices and get back to u. and do u have any places in mind? any shops near you that are good? thanks -Jeff

I've used Crazy Horse in South Amboy...they welded in my subframe connectors. I was pleased with their work. I've heard nothing but good things about LaRocca's as well.
What gear ratio is in your IRS?? Also, would anything else be needed like bushings, shocks, springs, etc? I know you said we'd have to swap catbacks too, but what catback do you have? I have a Magnaflow catback and 4.10 gears....I really don't want to go back to an OEM catback and 3.27s if that's what you have.

i have stock gears...but i have an aftermarket catback...i just got the car a few weeks ago and have not got a chance to chek what kinda catback but i h va stock headers x pipe with cats and it sounds really mean. get back to me

You're not going to believe this....the wife won't allow me to swap out the rear. Yeah, I know, I'm whipped. She simply doesn't understand these things and she thinks it will end up causing problems or costing me money. I blow up one engine and now she thinks everything I do costs money. Oh well, I guess I'll have to pass on this. Sorry about that. I'm sure you won't have much trouble getting another GT owner to swap with you.
