you guys arre crazy...i run 18* and 91 with no problems what so ever on my setup! let it rip man
I agree. I have an 87 Grand Marquis with a few light mods and I run 18 degrees with 93 octane with no issues. Tomorrow i may bump it down to 16 to see if I hear any differences.

2. 18* on stock iron heads probably isn't peak power, even though 25th said it was in his case. This is because the stock timing indicator may not be accurate. Without putting it on a dyno, you won't know for sure.
3. Running near the ragged edge is not a great idea for reasons stated by Hissin. You get bad gas one time, and detonation could do some damage. Leave yourself a little room. I like 14* on stock heads. 16-18* on aluminum heads.
