Is 2.5" really worth it?

I was just curious if 2.5" x and h pipes are really that much better than the 2.25. I mean I can see maybe if you have some forced induction or a full rebuild with upgraded h/c/i or something like that. The reason I ask is, I actually like the way mine sounds with the cats in the stock pipe. Im not really a fan of the super loud off-road pipes. And with that being said, if I were to upgrade my exhaust, I would go with some catted pipes. And didnt know if there was really that much of a power increase with going up just a 1/4 inch. By the way, I am pretty much stock with the simple, cheap bolt ons.

In your case, stick with what you have. Our exhaust is not that restrictive, at least not in a stock car. A set of high flowing cats in a 2.5" pipe would free up some, but nothing worth writing home about. I'm still running the stock 2.25" tail pipes on my car, and I have a decent combo.
