A high compression, big bore, stroker motor with p/p heads, really agressive cams and all the fun little bolt ons should provide well over 400rwhp, me thinks.
Isn't the big bore like a 324ci? Sorry if that didn't make any sense, I'm really tired.
The kids a fibbing! 400rwhp although possible, isn’t easy and certainly isn't very street able in a N/A car. The rumble of the thing would be a dead give away. Unless it idled like a Harley Davidson and sets off car alarms a block away, then I'd just smile and nod and let him finish his dream.
he started it up it didnt even sound like an agressive cam or any noticeable cam, actually his exhaust seemed no louder than mine with just my magnaflow catback, and he had an o/r x, I had to look under the car because I didnt even believe he had the x
400 hp at the flywheel would be pretty simple NA. Throw on all the normal bolt-ons (will get you about 310 - 320, right?), then heads and stage 2 cams should push you to 400 (fly wheel only).
That article in MM&FF isnt representative of a motor in any of our cars. Yeah it got 400 BHP but it had no accessories, only long tubes, electric water pump and it was using a F.A.S.T. system using speed density no MAF.
I contacted John CLine at arielperformance recently about building me a 2v 4.6 with 500+ @ the flywheel and was quoted 5500.00 including wiring harness. That wasn't including A/C, Alt., intake, headers or anythign like that, it was basically a quote for motor only. So, I think it sounds possible without SC or NOS.

the guy that had that is having the 324 vt stroker engine built said its costing him about 10k and should put 400 at the wheels hopefully plus he is seeing how to upgrade his automatic. He already has a stall convertor and that in it....he also has an 03 cobra and used to own the grey 99 gt with black on the hood on the procharger ads
you need money to be fast thats all it comes down to

you know jim, that's cool. i remember a few years ago when mmff did their magazine article on s/c 2v he had a low 10 sec 2v before everybody else. did he sell the procharger car or what, that car was awesome.
