is a 3'' o/r h pipe too big for stock?

i got one for cheap and put in on my pretty muck stock 89 AOD conv. will it help or hurt me?

if you have the stock 2.25 exhaust on it, it wont hurt you that much...but 3 inches is too big for any car that doesnt make lots of power

so i would be better off with the stock one? i havnt gone to the track recently to see if it made a difference,but my last times were horrible,mostly my 60ft and 1/8th and that is what it is probly hurting if anything. it does sound bad ass though. ant other opinions?

its just gonna hurt torque...but it might help top end power a little..but on a stock motor it wont do much

Yeah I have the same problem brucki. I have the 2 1/2 inch O/R h-pipes going into 4 inch mufflers and 3 inch tails. I think Im losing low-end torque, but it sounds really beast though.
