Is a tweecer worth it on a pretty much stock GT?

Well I guess I called it a basic unit
and
By the way you guys make it seem in this thread

The more accurate name must be a ... base unit

I would not advise getting a ... base ... unit :nono:
because
It can do nothing more than ... basic ... stuff :D

IIRC  The more advanced unit is called the RT unit
and
I would advise using it as it affords you more tuning options

I planned on getting the R/T since day one.

I think Ill do a few more things like intake and stuff, then get a wideband and teh R/T.

Just a quick note to let you know the Closed Loop portion of the tune
can be made next to perfect without the use of a wide band.

Also, it is this part of tuning that is the most challenging and will require
more of your effort than the WOT part.

A wide band is one of those must have kind of things when you
get into WOT tuning because you will be working with fuel.

Bottom Line is ......
You can get started in self tuning without a wide band

Good Luck with all your plans :)

Maybe Ill get eh tweecer before the wideband, but either way, I plan on getting one. Ill need it sooner or later, and Id rather know what the hell Im doing when i really need it.

I vote for getting it asap.

I tried to cut my teeth on a tweecer....on a forced combo. LUCKILY, I didn't blow a headgasket....but I'll tell you this....That thing gave me a headache trying to tune for the cam/heads/42lb injectors/ etc.....

In hindsight.....I should have got the tweecer before all the blower h/c/i crap....so I'd know what I was doing. Also, you don't need to reburn chips......all you have to do are some WOT blasts on the highway to gt your WOT tune down...versus going to a dyno (I'd still recommend that though)

also, I'd look into getting EA analyzer...if not for the software..then for the notes that clint put in there...worth it's weight in..umm...internet gold

:stupid: If I would of know how hard it would of been to tune and mostly learn what this and that does to performance. Im still lost but now I have a basic idea.
