Canada's got the right idea though. Who needs a strong military when you can cuddle up next to the guy with the biggest bombs and have him watch your back.
Have you replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor yet? If not do so. It made a huge difference on my car. My stuff all looked original and the car had 88,000 miles on it when I got it.
You may want to try some good fuel injector cleaner like BG40 and maybe change out the O2 sensors.
