Is having the mufflers dumped bad?

Someone correct me if i am wrong, but it is better because the exhaust still creates back pressure which is needed, but the exhaust fumes do not need to flow over the rear axle. This decreases the time it takes for the exhaust to flow out of the system.
My friend adam had pro-dump flowmasters setup on his old 98 GT (along with a homemade CAI made with PVC piping) and sounded DEEP/intimidating as hell.

Could be bad for your hearing and maybe even bad for your pocketbook. Cops can be asses and give you a ticket for disturbing the peace or whatever citation it is. But then again, that can be a catback and O/R pipe also......

I have a friend with his mufflers dumper and a O/R H on his 5.0 and it is LOUD!!!!!

Dumps won't hurt performance any, and at the very least you get the benefit of extra weight savings.
I love my dumps...unfortunately the cops don't. :nonono:

The 'packs dumped are kinda loud from 1500-2000, but they scream when I get on it. I like the sound, some don't. It's very deep. The next thing I plan on buying once I pay off a couple bills is some sound-deadening material that I'm going to put under the carpet. Should quiet it up a little on the inside of the car.

It's a load of bs :bs: who ever say's it will hurt your performance, but eather way. Do the turn downs they rule I have headers o/r X and flows with turndowns and it sounds awesome and if you see cops just don't get on it too hard i've never gotten pulled over for it. :nice:
