Is Idler Arm Mount Same For I6 and V8

I am doing the same thing to my 65. Its an I6 soon to be V8. I am replacing all the 6 cylinder steering with V8 manual steering. I believe that the idler arm bracket is different. I have a new V8 one along with all the other parts. The one I have is labeled as a V8 part, so I would think that it is V8 specific. I will try to look at it closer tomarrow and see if I can tell. I was told that all of the steering between the steering box and the spindle is different including the pitman arm.

Thanks

Thanks, let me know. I have the new Pitman arm, drag link, idler arm, tie rods but not sure about the mounting bracket.

I just looked. The idler arm mounting brackets are definitely different. The new V8 one has the nut on the bottom instead of the top like the 6 cylinder one. Also it looks like it hangs a little lower. They should both mount to the same 2 bolts on the inner frame rail though.

Yall are right.

It is different but mounts the same. I went the roller idler arm setup from Opentracker on mine, makes getting around parking lots a bit easier if you dont have power steering like me.
