Just like the title says, is it at all possible with the right heads and cam to get a 427 stroker to pass emissions? Im looking for a direction to go with my 351 and Im pretty sure its either going to be a 393 or a 427 but if the emissions are a no go thatll play a big part in parts selection. Im currently registered in CT where you absolutely have to pass emissions every two years or else your reg will be invalid. So if it wont pass my other option is to get it registered in MA where Ill just get the black R rejection sticker for emissions. Its going to be fuel injected. Anyone with a similar setup please chime in.

If the short block is in good shape

If the cam is not too radical

If the tune has been optimized

If all emissions equipment is in place

I'd have to say ... Very Possible :D

I am only talking passing with good specs from the emissions test

I am NOT talking about a visual which could fail you because of
something as simple as you used LT's :bang:

Yeah the visual was an area of concern. Im lucky in that at least if I cant get it to fly in CT I can always switch the reg to Mass. Theyll at least let you get away with an emissions rejection sticker which isnt too much of a concern as I only drive the car in the summer. Are there any headers that have the EGR threads in them on the passenger side or does that have to be fabricated?

A thought or two for you based upon my experience :D

I run A L L emissions equipment and it is in good working order :nice:

I've passed the roller & visual emissions annual test in Texas for the
past several years now with the sig you see in the combo

My emissions tech guy told me the LT's would fail me in some other
states. He said they were told as long as all equipment is in place,
nothing has been capped or bypassed, and it all comes up with
clean burn results ... things such as LT's will not fail the vehicle

OK ... speaking about cams :D

My cam is sitting on a 109 lsa
which
Was just awful when I first fired it up :bang:

It would not idle at less than 1200 rpm :notnice:
and
It burned your eyes big time from an over rich fuel ratio :fuss:

My Tweecer allow me to make the tune very efficient :nice:
thus it has played a substantial part :Word:
in my ability to make it pass the emissions testing :)

Any more Q's ??? ... Feel Free to Ask :D

I actually already have the money put aside for a tweecer RT. This is going to be a one and half to possibly two year project as I wasnt to be able t osave money to get the right parts the first time. Plus Ill have the car paid off by then. I wouldnt feel comfortable putting a nice motor in a car I dont technically own yet.

They do visuals but thats hit or miss. Sometimes they might notice something, other times they wont. Depends on whos working, what time of day, etc.
