Im looking to upgrade my spark plug wires so i figure it might be a good time to replace my coil and possibly ignition. Is the msd worth the money? Its going to come out to close to $400 for all this seems kinda pricey for something that doesnt need to be done or i may not see any benefit from.

For a N/A combo, simply said, the stock ignition is good for 350-400 HP.

But as mentioned, the multi-spark feature has improved some folks' idles and possible cutting out.

On forced induction or nitrous applications is where boxes really shine.

Good luck with the decision.

smoothed out my idle and improved my gas mileage by a couple mpg when I got my 300+. Other than that, you won't notice any big hp gains. I've gone through 2 MSD blaster coils though, anyone else had any problems with them??

I haven't had a problem with my Crane coil [I know it's not an MSD]. I was having some rough idle issues when I first picked up the car last Thanksgiving and the coil really helped.

Haven't had a problem with the coil at all.

The whining noise is RF interference. I solved that by providing a good ground contact on the coil mounting bracket to the strut tower.
