If i remember correctly the shift point for those anderson cams is 6000rpm+.
Probably not optimal for your heads.

You're overthinking this cam thing, if this were a high end custom setup, i'd be all for trying to squeeze every last hp out of it, but it's not.

Use the E or the stage 1.

Haha I'm trying to not over think it. I guess I'm just trying to make the right decision ahead of time.

No, the N41 is designed for 1.6's and the N21 is designed for 1.7's. The Anderson cam is a good choice. Yes, it is designed to be shifted around 6200 RPM. It is not designed to make max power at 6200 RPM. That would fall somewhere in the 5000+ range. The idea behind their suggested shift point is to keep your RPM's in the power making range when you go to the next gear. Shift at 6200, fall to 4400, still in good power making range (these are just examples, obviously depends on your gearing). The N41 and the N21 were designed with Gt40 heads in mind. The reason the N21 is designed for 1.7rr is because the stock Cobras came with them. The N21 was designed as a cam for stock headed Cobras with some mild mods.

I ran the TFS 1 up until recently, it is a good cam. Makes power up to around 5500RPM. I just recently swapped in the N41, not that noticable of a difference in the drivability market. Can't go wrong either way, but the TFS 1 cam can be picked up much cheaper, especially used.

Price isn't the factor here. I'm really leaning towards the Anderson cam instead of the TFS

Anderson N-412? Lol it's either that one, or just say hell with it and buy the TFS Stage 1 and call it a day. Thoughts?

You seem awfully intent on buying an agressive cam (with price not being a factor) for a guy who hasn't once talked about upgrading those puny GT40 iron heads. If money isn't an issue, why not pick up a set of nice used aluminum castings and a used (and much cheaper) previously noted E-Cam or TFS1 that some have suggested. You'll make a whoooollllle lot more power with that, than just cam alone. And you'll knock 50lbs off the front end to boot?
I mean....you're already going to be more than half way to a head swap anyway. Why stop at the cam? I nice set of used aluminum heads can be hand for anywhere from $500-$1,000 depending on the head. And you'll actually make some REAL power with those.

While you're at it...a salvage yard Explorer intake (if you're on a budget) will be a big imrovement over your current E7TE one.

I mean hey, money is tight I know....but if you're willing to drop $300+ on a cam that probably won't gain you much in the line of horsepower anyway, why stop there?

Like I said, I had bigger heads and a better intake with a tfs 1 cam....trick flow wouldn't put it in a kit like that if it were ty. If you want something with great street ability and good power that is the cam. And it sounds great. Just buy the damn thing holy hell lol

That's the answer I was looking for! haha I'm going to just go ahead and buy it sometime this week. I'm looking at swapping the cam and possibly dropping the trans(needs a rebuild) in the next month or so before it gets too cold out.
