Is my Holley FPR bad?

So i hooked about a hand held vacuum pump w/ gauge to the FPR and pulled vacuum, It slowly bled down and when i pulled the pump off and smelled the hose it smelled like gas. So i'm assuming its bad, right? I should have known when i intially installed it since i couldn't adjust the pressure all the much. I could basically pull the entire screw out without moving the psi ~1-2psi. Anyway i just got off the phone with summit and there going to warranty it even though its one month past the 90 day warranty.

This was a sign of a bad one correct?

Edit: I did it with the car off, don't know if that matters and does anyone know how much vacuum i should have pulled and held?

If you see signs of gas in the vacuum hose, then yes it is bad. The internal diaphram goes bad and it starts to suck gas. I got rid of the aftermarket adjustable FP regulators and all of their problems a long time ago and don't regret it. I do not want anything that can leak gas sitting on top of the engine, and basically no performance change either way for me.

Well, i just put my stock one back on and all is well. I can turn the key and it stays at 35 psi for awhile. It bled off to 30 in about ten min, but has been at 30 psi now for over 45 min. I haven't driven the car yet to see if my WOT issue is resolved, but we'll see soon.
