What? I don't understand....

But then I guess some of you would say I drive my car hard everyday.... I consider it taking it easy when I run through the gears at WOT chirping and spinning the tires. Cause I'm not hitting it with the 125 shot of nitrous. :D

I'm on 172,000 miles and I've been juicing for more than 2 years. I wouldn't worry about the engine at all. I would worry more about the tranny (which you say feels fine) and the rear end.

But if you don't rag on the car like most of us, then I don't see why it's even a concern. Hell, your just as likely to break something going down the highway.

i agree, but my car is my DD and i would not be shifting any different than when i do on the highway

i raced the hell out of my stock 94 gt for a good 7 months with minor problems water pump power stearing pump were the biggest problems then i blew my trans and thought it best to rebuild the motor while i had the trans out i measured every thing internally and it was fine so i see no reason not to race i had over 130thousand and the motor held together

I powershifted up till 100,000k Now my tranny grinds 3rd whenever I shift hard. I agree, unless you really REALLY need to drop .1 sec I wouldn't do it. I personally would rather be able to drive it home... Its not worth the risk.

but you have a backup blazer right?

anyways, i think its so funny hearing stories about "wow i got a good deal on a chevy (whatever) today, its got 160,000, but the motor's been replaced, tranny rebuilt twice...its a good car" my car has never been worked on...130,000...i love fords

to be honest when i had about 80k on my car i was thinking the same way
but was replacing parts before i even thought about racing it,also it seem
like my car stayed having a problem when i got a second car and i let it sit. now i beat the crap out of it like the other guy i know and it run great, just keep the maintenance up and don't wait for something to break before you replace it, always good to have extra so buy when your money is looking good.
