Is Pacesetter Exhaust Junk?

Hey guys. A while back I made a mistake by pulling the trigger on ebay before doing my research (sort of). I purchased a dual exhaust catback Pacesetter exhaust and then decided to go with Flowmaster. So, my question now is whether or not the Pacesetter is a piece of junk or not. I should have gone with the FM in the first place!

You get what you pay for. I had a Pacesetter on my old car (Probe) and it was okay for a while but I figured I wouldn't have the car for that long and didn't want to pay more for an OE or a high performance exhaust. In short, my personal opinion: YES IT IS!!

they are junk!!!! if you must use them than get your own gaskets so you dont have to use the cheap paper ones that they suppply you with since exhaust leaks are not attractive.

My catback doesn't have gaskets at all and doesn't leak

However, I had a Pacesetter on my daily driver (Nissan Sentra) and it rusted off in 18 months.

I had pacesetter o/r h on my 86gt and never had any problems out of it.Matched up perfect.

i had pacesetter on my old MR2. It sounded nice, but rusted off in like 9 month.
My friend had one in his 94 Probe GT, and it sounded great....

far better then metal dragging sound when inlet pipe rusted off, and muffler was dragging about year later

Same here, Pacesetter is prone to rusting out fairly quickly...more so if you drive it in winter (read: road salt). I'm not a big fan of Pacesetter products.

Had one on my 95 Probe.. Lets just say I put the stock exhaust back on. Rediculously loud, rusted out way quicker than I would have expected. Just a hunk of junk.

I had a Pacesetter on my 99 Cougar and I loved it...of course rust and California are mutually exclusive terms, so that wasn't an issue for me...

I had YoDude( I guess its called truebendz or something like that) on my 99 Cougar, and it sounded much nicer then Pacesetter

I don't know about that, the YoDude sounded totaly WRONG on the Cougar...like it was a wanabe muscle car or something...and they droned BIG TIME...

I never knew many people (even online) that didn't like the Pasesetter's sounds (on many different cars), it's always been quality that's been the issue...

I looked into it for my previous car, cheap, but everyone that had purchased it had it rust out on them.. I guess it wasent just for that particular model, looks like they all rust out.
