Is the factor weight on the rear diff necessary?

Here's the quote that stang&2Birds was trying to point out.
 
Excellent....now read the part where he explains how it's tuned to a 45Hz driveline frequency and designed to work with a steel driveshaft and gear ratios lower (numerically) than 3.27:1. Then read just a few paragraphs above that where he talks about how gear sets above 3.27:1 increase driveshaft speeds, that contributes to further driveshaft run out and imbalance, which as a result increase driveline resonance frequencies beyond said “moose balls” fixed 45Hz range, thus causing driveline vibration to both occur at lower speeds and in increased measure. It also states that at that point, the only thing calming and or correcting additional driveline vibration created by said frequencies traveling outside those ranges is the lower rotational mass of a aluminum, or composite driveshaft.

So...go ahead...keep the moose balls on if it helps...or take it off if it doesn’t. It really doesn’t matter to me? It’s the driveshaft and other areas of the driveline you’re going to need to rely on to control vibrations caused by frequency increases at that point...not an overcomplicated chunk of metal bolted to your pinion.
