Is the IRS from a mark 8 the same as that from a cobra?

Hey all,

My brother just got in a wreck with his 97 mark 8. Naturally, we are trying to get the car back in our garage so that we can salvage the motor and other stuff, but i was wondering about the IRS. I know the car has air ride, whereas cobras have coil springs. Is that an issue, if we wanted to put it in a mustang (with coil springs)?

Nope. Only the Al 8.8 center pumkin is similar. Everything else is different

that piece is waaayyy wide and would poke out either side if you could ever get it to bolt up.

There are differences between the cobra's themselves. Get the 03/04 unit. The 99-2002 have 3.27 gears, weaker shafts and lacking a crossmember support for the pumpkin.
