Is There a Cheap Way to Send Weels and Tires

I sold my old set of rims on ebay and stupidly gave what I estimated the shipping cost would be instead of simply stating that the buyer pays actual shipping.

Anyway, do you guys know what the cheapest way to send a set of wheels and tires is? It looks like it's brown (UPS) but I figured I'd ask.

You should be able to send a set of 4 wheels and tires for about $75 via UPS.

try FEDEX or greyhound freight.

75 bucks!! Is that with or without packaging? Can you send them out of the box?

You dont need a box to ship them....if the tires are mounted. You just put a piece of cardboard on either side of the wheel and wrap tape around it a few times and leave the tire exposed. Then just slap the UPS shipping label on the tire.

I suggest shipping two at a time....one stacked ont he other, cardboard on the ends, wrap in tape, with a packaging label. If your tires are not mounted on the wheels...it would be cheaper to have them moutned and ship them that way rather than individually or in a big box.

My BFGs came with brown and they were just banded together by 2's.

I ain't got a clue how far you got to send them but I just picked up a C6 tranny with 4wd adapter that was shipped from CO to GA on Forward Air for $70. If you live within reasonable driving distance of an airport it's worth a look. Check out their web site.

Check out Greyhound. They ship stuff pretty cheap.

I highly recommend looking at FedEx ground. They appear to be trying to steal the market away from brown with low prices. I had a set of four wheels and tires shipped with them and only had some cardboard on the wheel face side to protect them from scratching. Almost half the price of UPS.

I sold some rims on ebay and the cheapest way to send them was FedEx ground.You have to register with them first before you can ship(at least I had to).I have heard Forward Air is cheap too.

I always shipped non-breakable stuff with Greyhound when I came and went from college. No problems, but they beat my stuff up pretty badly.
