Is there a cool way to signal "Cool Car"?

OK so, I was driving my 2002 Dodge QuadCab Pickup home from work yesterday & I pull up next to a brand new Mustang Shelby on the highway. Me being a Mustang guy I decided I would give a thumb-up to let him know I thought his car was cool. Well, He gave me an arrogant yeah I know, whatever half wave back. Shortly after this incident I visualized myself giving the guy the thumb-up & I thought to myself “WHAT A DORK” I must have looked like….

….. So, I ask you:

Is there a cool way to signal “Cool Car”?

Or is that a BIG NO-NO; should you just look & admire but, do not say anything?

I've had lots of random people just wave at me when I'm driving the mustang as well as some thumbs up. The more shy people just give me an obvious head turn/look. If someone waves at me, I always happily wave back. The coolest thing, was one day I was driving down the highway and an old Santa Claus looking biker sped up to ride alongside me, gave me a thumbs up and a huge grin, then sped off after I waved. I was smiling ear-to-ear the rest of the way home.

Hey Chelle,
I love your car, Murphy. My dad use to have a '67 coupe which is why I'm a Mustang guy now. I'd love to get a '67 one day & restore it to look like my dads old '67. He had it back in 1968 when it was only 1 year old & he fixed it up for street racing, he was in his mid 20's then. I don't agree with street racing or anything & neither does my dad anymore. Shortly after my parents had my oldest sibling my parents took their racing to the local drag strip.

Kids, Street racing is BAD!

Anyway thanks for your input.

Well the bird might be more common. But a thumbs up is generally the way to go Most of the time it's not received that well either way. So mostly I just admire quitely.

People who act like they're too cool to be bothered by a compliment are jerks. They also seem to be the "buy it" rather than "build it" type. Just like the guy you mentioned with the new Shelby. It makes my day to see or hear a compliment about my car, not because I need someone else's approval to be happy, but because it just feels good to hear. The car is reward enough, the compliments and neck-snapping looks are icing on the cake.
I love meeting people who like my car, or hearing something nice. If I didn't, I'd drive my beat-up Mazda pickup to cruise town in. It gets better mileage, is easier to see out of and you can actually hear the CD player. But rattling the windows in the fastback and getting the thumbs up seesm to make me happy. Go figure.

Zoo, I want a Stang just like yours when I grow up. If we ever meet side-by-side on the road, you might to look out.... I'll be hanging two thumbs out the window, and I'm not sure how long my vehicle is gonna continue steering itself.

And Phat-Stang, an '02 Ram Quad-Cab????? You are a dork!

+1 on that! the celeb is far form a babe magnet, and is a bit better than the 16 mpg i get form the stang. plus it doesn't use $4 gasoline! but god its fun burning that gasoline!!!
