Is there a difference?

Is there a difference between the 99 and 01 intake manifold gasket.
99 - felpro part# MS-92121
01 - felpro part# MS-921213

I have a small coolant leak at the back right corner of the intake manifold.Right below the tube for the heater core hosing, It's dripping down on my starter. I just did the full PI swap. I have 01 intake with aluminum housing and 03 romeo heads. I logged into rock auto to check my order history and sure enough I ordered the ones for the 99. Dam I'm going to have to take it back apart and put the right gaskets in there. You guys agree?

There 99 is for a windsor..... 96-98 and 01.5-04 are romeo's...... Didn't think the gaskets would be different though...

If there is a difference, I don't see it. The pictures of the two gasket sets are shown below. They look the same to me. The top set is for the 1999 GT Mustang part # MS-92121, and the lower set is for the 2001 GT Mustang part # MS-921213. I also checked the Dorman part numbers, their part numbers are the same for both years. What torque value did you use for the intake bolts? Is it possible that your leak is coming from somewhere else? Hope this helps. Good luck, Tommy.

I found a intake manifold bolt loose. I missed it torqueing down the intake somehow. I torqued them all to 22 ft lbs. I found a small leak in back of the thermostat housing. I twisted the gasket putting it on. The spring end of the thermostat goes down in the intake manifold and the bridged top goes in the thermostat housing correct?

Correct, spring down towards the ground.

Twisted Intake Gasket!

Yes, the spring faces downward like in the picture below. Then the O ring (not shown in the picture) sits on top of the thermostat, not below it. The intake in the picture is the one that we replaced. It was leaking coolant in two locations, under the thermostat housing base, and on the opposite side under where the aluminum cross over channel bolts to the intake manifold. We replaced that intake, with the one with the integrated O rings, no flat gaskets. We used a 180 degree thermostat. We torqued the intake bolts to 18 ft lbs. So far, no more coolant leaks, or overheated problems. Are you saying that you have to replace the twisted intake gasket? Hope this helps. Good luck, Tommy.
