Is it possible to switch out the auto tran in my 05 for a tremec 6 speed. I would just trade it in but the taxes to do that are just so steep I would rather do it this way. What would I have to do to do this if possible?

Just off the top of my head I would say you need a clutch pedal assembly w/ neutral safety and cruise control cut out switches, a driveshaft and manual tranny tune; aside from the 6 speed that is.

Also useing the GTO rear tranny section will allow you to get rid of the stock
remote shifter. D&D has a complete swap available.

There are a few guys that are trying the swap right now to the GT500 transmission. You need the dual clutch discs along with a lot of other stuff. From the threads I'm reading, it isn't really a "direct" swap and requires a lot of work.

They are all doing it with manual transmissions though, don't know how much more is involved with an automatic but I doubt it's cheap.

Anthony did a swap from auto to 5 speed manual. he should be able to give you some specific info for the auto to manual swap. from what i remember, there is alot of wiring that needed to be done.

going with a 6 speed will increase difficulty a little, but once you figure out the hard parts that come from the auto, you will be golden.
