Is this a NOS button?

does this shifter work in an 04 gt and will that red button work for nos when i get some nos.

HURST T-HANDLE KNOB w/RED BUTTON in excellent condition, never used. Has red button for roll control or any other thing you want to momentarily control. Also includes a Pro 5.0 steel lever unused. The shifter would have to be for a 3650 transmission to work. If it is for a t45 or t5 it will not. The button will work for N2o , but I would use a switch that operates at wide open throttle only, not a push button like that. It will be safer and no guess work involved as to when to push the button.

Dont mean to be an a$$, but NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) is a brand. N2O is nitrous oxide.

hey *****er first of all i made a mistake but if u wanna cut me down then at least cut me down right and by the way nitrous oxide is NO2. N20 is nitrous dioxide, take a chemistry class and the bus, then come and talk to me.

sorry bro. ProchargerGT is right. Though i bet he knows nothing about chemistry .
N20 = nitrous oxide.
No2 = nitric dioxide or nitrogen dioxide. Think about it.

To answer the original question yeah you can link it up to the shifter's red button but it's a lot safer to get a window switch and have it operate at certain rpm range.

um, no. with all due respect it is you who should go back to class, Nitrous oxide's scientific name is Dinitrogen oxide or +N=-N=O
-nitrogen dioxide is actually a by product of burnt fuel and reacts with air to make nitric acid (or HNO3) in an aquious (sp?) solution, otherwise known as acid rain..

The original poster is very wrong. Nitrous oxide we use for cars is N20, which is 33% oxygen. We use N20 because atmospheric air is only about 20% oxygen. The increased amount of oxygen molecules makes for a stronger combustion reaction. It's chemically doing the same thing as all the other power adders (superchargers and turbochargers); it increases the amount of oxygen molecules available in the combustion reaction. When N20 is released it undergoes the following spontaneous endothermic reaction:

2 molecules N20 = 1 molecule 02 + 2 molecules N2

The 02 molecules take part in the combustion reaction. This reaction absorbs heat, like an ice cube spontaneously melts. This is why using nitrous also acts to cool the air mixture!!

Don't forget that the extra pressure created by that 2 mols of N2 for every mol of 02 helps give power. You start with one mol of gas from the N2O, and as the combustion occurs, end with 1.5 mol (one from N2, 1/2 from O2). How many more gas particles you have in the cylinder over a standard intake charge won't be 1.5 times, as most of the intake will be standard air, but every bit counts towards more hp.

Nitrous (or if you want to get all technical, di-Nitrogen monoxide) is what you cram into your engine to make it bang harder.

how many chemistry lessons do we have to have with all the kids on Stangnet to make more people go to Modulardepot.com to get good info. The question was about a shifter and a button. I knew what the post meant. If you want to correct someone , fine. I remember now why I don't come here as much. If you look at where a lot of the good info came from on Stangnet, you will find that most that contributed are on another site now. grow up.

first i didnt cut you down i corrected you and secondly i took chemistry and physics when i was in school.. was means past tense so therefore i have no need for the bus. so here i am talking to you.

fair enough, but why won't the knob work with a t-45, the knob doesn't care about what shifter it's on, the button works with an accessory

I just love knowing how stuff works, and helping others understand, and since the thread already swayed that way, by the original poster I might add, I thought I'd finish off the answer above my first post.
