Car is a 2007 or 2008 roush vert with a 5 sp auto. It's a factory S/C car. Has a tune L/T's diffrent pully and a valve job. He claims on street tires it will run 11.20! He's a somewhat average driver on the street, although he hit's the limiter all the time every gear and drives it like he stole it!. Is he full of it or not?????? if so what do you think it will run? peace

Not running 11.2's on a street tire unless a D.O.T. Hoosier is what he considers a street tire. LOL

You'll need way more information on the car and drivetrain to judge what times it'll run. Just ask him for a timeslip. An automatic vert, supercharged or not is pretty much a pig in factory stock form. If he's running an upgraded blower, pulley, tune, built bottom end with forged internals and supporting fuel mods with a built 4r70w or C4 then he could very well be telling the truth. In my experience, guys with mouths that big usually "lost" all of the timeslips proving their BS.

NEVER buy a car based on supposed time slips

But if you ignore the timeslips and just go on whether or not the car is/has what you're looking for, then go for it

Tanner, have you been sniffing Sharpie markers all night? No one mentioned any interest in buying the car, or doing so based on timeslips. The OP only wanted to know if we thought the guy was full of cocky or not.

I don't think the OP would be stupuid enough to buy a car he's witnessed being beat to death on the street. If I see a douche bouncing off the rev limiter on every shift and being John Force at every stop light, I know the car is basically worthless to me.

You should try coating the inside of your nostrils with white out, Tanner. Works like a charm.

Not 2 guy's i was 100% honest with him. I told him my motor went 12.4 with a 1.5 60' in my coupe, but i have no clue in this car? He's the one saying his will run 11.20's and is the fastest production car!Repo and justin can witness it maybe ?But i think he's one of those guys that will run in the street and no slips to prove it. peace

The fastest time I have seen for a stock 427R automatic go is 12.2 and that was with ET Streets. The headers and pulley are worth 40 hp at most. So the 40 hp would be offset by the extra weight of the convertible and the street tires. So there is no way he is running an 11.2 even on drag radials.

I think he's full of it. A stock 427R hardtop does the 1/4 in 13.1 so a stock 427R vert auto should do 13.3. Even with LT's, pulley, and valve job, I don't think it would do much better than high 12's on street tires.
