ok, now that i have a chance to talk, both are for a 5.0, and both fit with no problem, i'm just worried about the oil pump , i'm looking for a way to test it, to see if the oil pump will engage or not, thanks,

FWIW, the different diameter shaft dizzys are not repeat NOT interchangeable. The blocks that come stock with a smaller (.49") shaft are the 1985-86, and the blocks that come stock with the larger (.52") shaft are the '87-95. So all that milling and lathing and hammering and assembly I did to build a custom, larger-shaft dizzy? The shaft won't go through the m----f----ing hole INSIDE the m-----f----ing block.

I get to rip it apart and throw the bones in the trash, and start all over. Un****ingbelievable.

i'm not sure we had the same problem, on mine the problem is i want to make sure the gear is the same, "looks exactly the same to the eye" and the bottom of my new dizzy is about 1/4 inch shorter so i'm worried about it not turning the oil pump, i put a bit of grease in the end and sat it in and it goes about 1/2 inch into the dizzy, is this deep enuff to run the oil pump
