My friend has an SVO 351W block for sale, it has just been machined, all ready to go, roller ready, not sure which casting it is yet, or if its 9.5 deck, it's 2bolt main, but he wants $800 for it. Is this a good deal ? what do they cost new? and do they come machined? thanks for the help guys!

btw: $800 includes pushrods that i need too..

Sounds like a SPORTSMAN block, that block will easily handle 900HP. The 351W based sportsman in a much better block then the 302W Sportsman. The block sells for $1200+ new and only needs a little machining as far as the piston bores, deck, etc.

It has enough meat in the mains to go to a 4 bolt cap if you want to. Most likely a 9.5" deck, 3" main.

Get the casting number...
