well, metal is porous. most things actually are to some extent. certainly not a sponge, but it is. just a fyi.

Mayhaps ... but I have still never seen nor heard of any substance that legitimately "soaks into metal." And besides ... what would be the advantage of something soaking into the metal of an engine, anyway? Friction occurs primarily on the SURFACE of engine's metal parts, so unless this ZMax crap can somehow miraculously alter the metallurgy of an engine in such a way that it, like, cools the thing better or whatever, I fail to see how it would really benefit jack. The claim still just sounds completely dubious.

well while working as a welder, i have seen metal sweat. in order to get a good weld, you have to preheat cold pipe in order to sweat the water out. and i have first hand seen A LOT of water come out of pipe that looks and feels dry to the touch. it will actually drip off the pipe sometimes.

Hmm ... always just figured something like that could be attributed to condensation. Anyways...
