Iskedrian Camshafts require 4* of advance... Please help

I was just told by DMAN that he may have thought that the Iskedrian Camshafts require about 4* of advance on the timing chain. Is that right? Because that would explain why my car is slow, and it wouldn't be that hard to correct, please, anybody who knows help me out.

I do have all my specs and everything for the camshaft and looked at the instructions, and all it says it "you may want to advance or retard the cam" it doesn't say it would help or anything, but that is so it can be compatiable with every engine, so anybody.... HELP

Thanks alot

Your cam is too small. I don't know why you chose that profile, but it does not match your combo. Trick Flow also recommends a 70mm TB for that combo, not a 65mm. Use their recommended components and you will have 350HP/370ft LBS. There is plenty of bottom end in that combo.

Your Isky cam;

(.480/.500) (210/218 Duration)

Trick Flow Stage 1 (designed for your intake)

(.499/.518)(221/225 Duration)

All I did was line up the dots on the timing chain... I see were you can advance it to 4 or retard it... I don't know if that is what I should do or get the TFS 1 cam. With the TFS 1 won't I have piston to valve clearnence issues?

First I would get a degree wheel and degree the cam to see if it is installed and matches the spec. If the pin was drilled a hair off on the cam core you could need to advance or retard it a little to get it back to where it should be.

You will need a timing chain that has adjustment increments of 2 degrees is best.

Your using too much cam with the TFS 1....Sell the Isky on Ebay and cut your losses....Then follow my earlier suggestion about a "B" cam or call Lunati and have them do a custom grind for your combo...THATS WHY THESE CAM COMPANIES HAVE TECHLINES...make them earn there money.
