I just found a coolant leak, right above #4 cylinder, at the intake. What's the best route a new intake seen one on ebay for about 129.00, or is the gasket a common problem with these 4.6, and what brand of gasket is the best.

The manifold is probably cracked. Never heard of one with a gasket failure. Even if it is I would swap the intake anyway since it has to come off. Don't get the Dorman intake. Go with the Ford product.

took intake off, no crack found new gasket seemed to fix that leak, now it seems to be coming around the rear bolt passenger side, not running out but seems to be wet, should have I put gasket sealant on it?

It's not required but might not have been a bad idea. Dry it and see if it continues.

Just wondering. Did you USE a torque wrench when installing the intake? If so, what torque value was used?

The intake gaskets that Ford uses are very good. However they do depend upon a smooth sealing surface and correct torque. The Ford servce manual recommends torque values 25 Nm (18 ft-lbs)
