Hello! It's been some time, and even though I haven't owned a Mustang in a year or so, it is inevitable that I'll have another one at some point. I have been dedicated to 3si.org (3000GT/Stealth International) for years, but it was just the other day some clueless 5.0 bashing popped up and I had to laugh. The irony was inherent to me because a lot of forum members will whine about why other forums bash, and here went someone on a Mustang kick; I enjoy sticking to the "underdog" cars, and I know we are all no strangers to the clueless folks thinking we run 17's or something. The recent Creations and Chrome "Top Notch" build really had me jonesing for another, there is just nothing like the exhaust note of a 5.0 with long-tubes and an x-pipe (my 88 LX had such, I would do anything to hear the exhaust vibrating off of the concrete barricades at WOT again!)
Perhaps this isn't altogether relevant as a "tech" discussion, but definitely for talk. I miss the community, the camaraderie of the community, and the easy-going banter. It's funny because even other platforms I've been involved with over the years, even the naysayers will admit that it's the best sounding non-supercar exhaust note out there. I may not have one any longer, or perhaps even be building one anytime soon but I felt the need to at least stir up some friendly conversation with some great members again (my stay on this particular forum was limited, but I digress.) I am in the Wichita KS area of any of you are within reach, I know I'd kill for some seat time in a Mustang again. My 3000GT build may be 500AWHP and low 11's/high 10's, but it still doesn't sound like a V8
Cheers,
-Willens
