A few years ago I swapped engines and it seemed like a good idea at the time to remove all the smog stuff and ac stuff. Since then when I turn my heater fan on only the defrost blows and air. It gets warm so im guessing my heater core is ok but I noticed that the air blows into the engine compartment near ac lines. Whats disconnected that I need to reconnect? I dont want to take the dash out if I dont have to but its getting colder here in Wisconsin so I need to fix it fast! If anyone can tell me all the stuff under the hood that needs to be there I sure would be appreciative! As of right now I only have the vacuum line going through the firewall with the little blue valve thing on it (cant remember what its called). Thanks guys

Edit: I also checked the connections and the soft vacuum lines inside the car going to the heater controls and they look good...

I'm guessing you removed the hVAC vac line that feeds into the interior to the selector and allows you to direct the air to the vents.

I wish that was the case

Its still there. Its going from the vacuum tree to the check valve and then in through the firewall. Where does that lead to? I checked the vacuum lines on the back of the controls and there tight. Are there any other electronics that control it? I have all the emissions stuff on the passenger side engine compartment removed, is any of that for the heater controls?

Make sure the vacuum canister is hooked up in the passenger fender.

I had the same thing happen to me last week checking for vac leaks again and found that the little plastic hose to the heater controller was cracked where it enters the firewall about 2 inches from the 3 way valve on the firewall. DAM them plastic lines.......
