it's like fricking christmas in my garage

vortech, dyno tune, built rear, panhard/torque arm, new brakes/pads, engine clean up, bunch of supporting gauges, getting it painted next weekend, lastly waiting on my tremec setup to get finished.

then lots of right footed abuse.

It was a Chevelle, and it looked like this:

For those that are interested, the Barracuda looks like this: (It's under the knife now getting a ton of work done. Hoping to be reborn by the time the warm weather gets here. You won't recognize it when it's finished. :D)

It should look more like this when done:

The Barracuda is currently getting all new Kelsey Hayes brakes, complete front end rebuild, it's being converted to power steering the right way, TTI nickel coated headers and full flowmaster exhaust with the correct exhaust tips, new engine wiring harness, 1.04 torsion bars, and fixing little odds and ends like electrical gremlins and door locks, etc. It was freshly painted 2007 Nissan "Liquid Copper" (paint code R12). The driveline is 360/727/8-3/4" with 3.55 gears. Meh on the pics. Nobody wants to see that on a Mustang forum.

I know I'm not part of the old crowd yet, but I'd like to see it. A friend of mine form work has a 70 duster that's pretty sweet....I can appreciate an old muscle car.

EDIT
sorry... didn't read to the end before posting.

Haha, hopefully right before you finish that 347. The goal is 11 second power in 3200-3300 race weight, NA, stock bottom end, pump gas. Now, whether or not I get into the 11s depends on if I can learn to drive, heh.

that's a pretty aggressive goal! it's what I'd like to do as well. please share what you plan on doing to get there!

That is a pretty good looking A body there 91. What kind of PS you going to put on it? My Dart had factory PS and I dumped it for an original aluminum manual box. Improved road feel and I dumped about 100lbs off the front end.

You really want to make that thing nice put a Alterkation on the front of it. :D

Thanks Lars! The car is getting a reman OEM saginaw unit. It's going back on with all of the OEM correct brackets, hoses, etc. A lot of guys are telling me I'm going backwards by returning the car to PS, but I don't agree. The goal for this car is to be a 100% dead reliable cruiser. I want to be able to get it in and drive 500 miles without a care in the world. Post up some pics of the Dart! :nice:

Oh yeah, and a $6k alterKtion is not exactly in the budget this year, haha.

This year the Christmas gift was for the 04 GT, I got a new 03 Cobra bumper cover.

Where my cars really benefit though is after tax returns. This past spring my 68 got TFS heads, a cam, and a Holley.

Not sure which car is getting what with my next tax returns, they should be about 2-3 times what it was last year. Maybe time for something for the fox? Or a new clutch and drag radials for the 68, possibly a tremec.

Nah, screw it, it's going toward my fund for building a shop. It will probably get me the concrete slab.

The we'll just have to race on my turf, i'll even make it fare by keeping the slicks at home and running street tires *cough* NT05's *cough* :p

Haha, if you're hinting road course, then you'll REALLY see how much I can't drive. I've always wanted to dabble into auto-X, just hasn't happened yet.

I haven't committed to exact details yet, but I'm thinking FAC TW 190s, 90mm TFS "R" intake, custom cam. I'll have the heads milled to get the car to around 9.5:1 CR (I'll leave some on the table in case I want to go turbo eventually, otherwise I'd go 10:1). I'm half tempted to have the heads get a professional bowl blend before I put them on the car, because I've seen the 190s pick up ~20 CFM on the intake from just that, no porting. Actually, I may just go insane and throw some CNC TW 205s at it and see what happens.

Half of the reason I'm considering the "big" cylinder heads is because I plan on going stroker eventually and I don't like buying parts twice. The other half of my reasoning is a combination of things. Mainly, I'd like to prove that a stock bottom end NA 302 can play with the big boys without sacrificing drivability if you're willing to think outside the box a little.

By "big boys", I mean, I'd like to be running- competitively- with LS cars and the new Coyote cars. But hell, even if I screw it up and only manage to run mid 12s, it'll still be fun to drive and I'll have good parts that give me plenty of room to grow.

Sorry for the derailment. :p You guys can probably expect to see a progress thread on the engine once tax returns roll in.

Begging his wife to mod his car :p

Haha, truth! I have a spreadsheet with a few different engine layouts and parts-cost tables, and believe me, she cringes every time she sees it.

Stroker kits are cheap now, i say you go with a 347 right off the bat with a set of TW 205's you'll make easy work of splitting the block if you want to.
