On my 2000 MGT I had Magnaflow everything which I was well pleased with. However, I stopped in at the dealership where I purchased my new Stang and they have a blue Steeda in the showroom. (They became a Steeda dealer about 2 weeks ago) I noticed the car had different exhaust (naturally) and asked if I could hear the car. He fired it up and it sounded amazing!! He told me it was a Borla set-up, so that is what I want.

I've been searching the ad's on google but am curious if there is a trusted Borla dealer anyone here has had good luck with. I used Partshopper.com before and was very pleased; however, I didn't see Borla for sale from them. If someone has the time, could you fire off a response to a good site for me to browse? As always, Thanks!

Yowsers!! Crutchfield is expensive!! I didn't even know they sold exhaust, I thought they only were a audio/video dealer. Definitly a reputable source though, I thank you for that.

I can't remember what I paid for my Magnaflow set-up... I know it was up there though. It seems most of the prices are $650 on uo. Mostly though, I just want a reputable source.

http://spideraccessories.stores.yahoo.net/mustangexhaust.html is $630

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/p...2168&partid=83&makeid=9&modelid=111&year=2006 is $679

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the Steeda Axleback the Borla Exhaust. Because you can purchase from Steeda.com for 399.99 right now.

Steeda's exhaust is made by Borla. Same deal with the FRRP Stinger exhaust...

My buddy works there. He told me several years ago that they were expanding their product line since the tuner cars had become so popular. I've never taken advantage of any of the deals since I haven't had anything to really mod in years. They have Borla, K&N, APC, etc... I did notice the price was high, but then again they picture pipes with the mufflers... Checking stangsuspension.com out and they have the Borlas as well for $517.99(free shipping), but no pipes are pictured there.

The only way I'd spend $600 on a axle back exhaust is if it was a Corsa.....oh wait...I did!

The mufflers themselves look VERY similar, but the tips on the Borla are much nicer, they have the rolled tips.

Has anybody gutted the stock cats on their '05 up? I know I did this on my '92 LX 5.0 and helped the sound quite a bit. My new Stang has a much nicer H pipe than the '92 did.

Is the Borla (Steeda) axle back system your talking about straight through or baffled?

I have a pair of polished Borla straight through mufflers I would like to use on my 06 GT, but I'm not sure if they would be too load or cause that 2000 RPM drone.

Man, I really don't remember it being this complicated before. I guess that's why I'm always seeing exhaust posts. Baffles or no baffles, axle-back or full, hi-flow cats or gutted, and on and on and on. Sheesh, I'm going to fry my brain!!

From what I'm hearing, and please correct me if I've misinterpretted, but axle-back will net you close to what a cat-back will? Isn't a cat-back only adding pipe that you already have on the car? I mean I can see changing to an X-Pipe or adding hi-flow cats; but the difference in a cat-back and a axle-back are very small.

Oh, I did look at Corsa, and I will not downplay their product, it is very very nice; I just like the Borla better at this point in my life.

Not up on the 05's, but I assume you can cut out the stock muffler and have another welded in. Look for Wicked Nicky's exhaust on the net. I payed $150 for two mufflers shipped and just had them welded in on my 04.

I plan to keep the stock axle back system and have a custom axle back system made using the two Bora muffers I have. I have the tips, I just need the elbow coming from the exhaust pipe into the mufffler. This shop I know does good custom work and they can make the elbow for me.

I figure it would still be cheaper than buying a new axle back system.
I'll let you know how it turns out next week.
