well i have been workin on my 347 for a while, with financial and time constraints bein a problem, its been a project spread out for a while. I went back in town (im in college and away from home) and worked on my motor with my dad. he put the crank and cam in, so we were workin on the pistons and cont rods, and realized we were short one. between goin to the machine shop and and the spread out time, not to mention bein disorganized, its not to be found. so we are lookin at a comp new set and having to rebalance. I told my dad, we might as well spend a little exta $$ and get a 408 and put it in an extra 351w we have. he told me its a good motor with a good cam, but the heads are restrictive, and i told him iwould use my afr 185s on it, so we might put that in. My ? is should i get new stuff for the 347, or should i put 185s and a fuel injected intake on the 351? the 347 will be about as good as it can get NA, but the winsor has room to grow....aka a 408. of course i would need some extra things for the 351, but what would you guys do?
sorry that was so long

Hard to say really the 351 would need special headers (351 swap headers) and other little things to make it fit the engine bay. Were as the 347 would work with the exsisting parts. I would probably opt to keep the 347 if time and $$ is a factor. But if $$ and time really doesn't concern you the 351 for sure...

So ... was the 351 already injected? Is it a roller?

time isnt a factor....and my dad said since he lost the piston he would help pay for what it would cost to replace, which would go to the intake. the 351 is a roller but also carb

If the choice is 347 or 351, then its 347 hands down! 347 will make more power with the same parts (obviously). Now if money is no object and you want to build a 351 based stroker the RIGHT way, then definatly go that route. Go big if you go 351 based.

I would stay 347 since it appears you have most of the stuff for it.

who put the carb on the roller 351?

since the roller 351 came out in late 93/early 94 the factory used ones were EFI.
