Well, it is race ready. Honestly I would say 60k, not 125k. For 125k you could go buy something just as fast with more class. Or put a nice down payment on a Lambo Murcielago.

Well, you know...inflation.
I agree too high, but what I want to know is if anybody has bought one. That way I can go rob them because they must excessive cash laying around to blow it on that thing.

It also has alot of custom parts - like the dampners, etc. Has full data acquisition too... There was a TV show special (discovery or TLC or something) where they chronicled the setup of the first turnkey S197 race car, it was cool, and really showed how much testing, setup, and changes they had to do to make stuff work.

Thats just because you couldnt afford it

Its a turn key race car, its not a street car. Hell I doubt its even street legal. How much do you guys think it costs to build a flat out race car that is legal to run in whatever race series those are designed to be run in.

So what's the average price on a brand new Grand Am series turnkey race car?

To make yall feel better, there's a seller on ebay (57 rating, 100% positive) selling #23/25, never raced, for $80,000.

He's also selling a Ferrari 360 Challenge (Modena race car), raced 11 times. Current bid, after 13, is $84,999.

Edit: And didn't the FR500C mop the floor with the competition in the 2005 Grand Am Cup series?

i used the "report an error" button for the price....cmon even if you put 20k into the engine thats still only around 60k you tell me the other parts on the car are worth 65k yeah right.

it lists STEERING
# Steering Rack: Ford rack and pinion
# Power Steering: Ford hydraulic

....like thats something

way overpriced.

Guys...this isn't as simple as gutting a street car and selling it...this is a RACE CAR...race cars cost BIG MONEY! Granted I'm sure they are cheaper used, but these things regularly sell for 90+

could someone explain what is so race car about it...i see a fuel cell and a roll cage safety equipment and some seats listed in the mods. The suspension stuff looks like stuff you could do yourself and it says its all FRPP. Maybe im missing something then

still 90k is way different than 130k by a lot actually.
