JBA Headers installed, car idled ROUGH

Anyone else have this problem (with ANY replacement headers)? I just bumped the idle up to 750 and it was fine after that. I'm guessing that the combination of the hi-flo xpipe and JBA's deepened the exhaust tone enough to set of some low-frequency vibrating.

My idle isnt rough and all my "nasty vibrations" have finally been cured with some modification work to the exhaust system hangers. You may want to check that your clearances are decent.

The long tubes waken up the idle and create that deep growl without being loud at all. Until you put your foot into it though.

BTW, my Idle RPM is set for 750 and Drive is set for 650 or so.

13.2 on the stock tires with my signature mods without the use of the nitrous, long tube headers, and new shocks.

I was spinning all the way through 1st gear though with those 410s.

I havent used the nitrous in months now since the torque converter will lock-up in 4th gear at the end of the race.

I think I should be good for a 12.5 or so with drag radials with all my mods sans (without) nitrous. I may end up @ the track next Friday but there is no guarantee of that yet.

I'm impressed: my Goodyear Eagle F1s, so sticky on the street, are completely useless on the track, as I spun uncontrollably in 1st and 2nd. I'll be set up with the proper track mods by next spring though...

I used to have JBA long tubes, I kept my idle at 600rpm without any trouble. I would try reloading your tune and double checking that you have a tune that is compatible with the headers you have. Also make sure your rear O2 sensors are turned off in the tune, I have been told if they are on they can cause some strange happenings trying to correct things even if you have cats.

Well, I emailed JBA Monday asking if this was a common problem. Still no reply. That said, they do already have my $, so that's ok.

Nothing from JBA, so I'll never buy another product of theirs, and have managed to disuade a number of friends from doing so. There may be no problem with their product, but to be honest, if a company doesn't respect their customers enough to make the effort to respond to them, then I don't respect them enough to let them have another cent of mine.

Did you have them retightened? I think you need to do that a few times with headers.

Bummer. I think you should remove them, and sell them to me for say, $400. Your problem would be solved!
