I bought an Official JDM Ricer Overflow Tank for my radiator (Anodized Red with Orange hose included for FREE!!!)...

Here's the question:

It has no opening other than the screw off cap. Every other aftermarket I've owned or seen has an opening & I have no idea why. So do I need to improvise one? Or is it okay to keep it pressurized with the radiator

Thanks for your support in this rice matter.

PS: It was the cheapest I could find okay

I think I saw those when lookin at a can for the 94. I'd install a barb at the top with a hose running to somewhere that coolant can be dumped out.

You really dont want that can pressurized - you're not running a Degas set-up.

Just MHO.

Oh, is that can big enough? I decided that for me and a DD, I wouldnt settle for less than 1.5 quarts, and wanted 2 quarts. You can certainly get away with less but you gotta check it more often. I find this to be more of a pain than it's worth.

Good luck and enjoy!

It's already empty after one drive
My friend runs one the same size and has had it for a year with no problems (his is vented). The shipping ended up being $16.00- I got jipped

Thanks Hissin I'll vent it- do you think it could have caused me to overheat a little
