Don't go and buy new parts, find the problem first.
1. Clean the IAB or IAC (the valve everyone is talking about). Take it off the car and spray carb cleaner or something similar into it. Just make sure the plunger can move freely without sticking.
2. TPS- Check this with the key on engine off. Get a volt meter and plug into the black and the green or orange (can't remember off the top of my head so do a search). Anyways, you'll know when you're on the right wire... The voltage should be within .9 to .99 volts. If it's not then you'll have to loosen the two screws on top and adjust it to the proper range.
3. I'd also check for vacuum leaks.
Might want to go ahead and do a tune up since it seems like the car needs it. Good luck.
