Hi, I have a full bolt-on car, nothing more. No internal stuff done. Would a Jet chip benefit me in any way? I will need to get top gas mileage because I will be driving from Nashville to Knoville and back once a week, thats around 200-250 miles. Would I be better off getting a custom tune, or is that a waste on a bolt-on car?

BTW car runs fine, just want as much out of it as possible!

A chip will do you just fine i'm sure. It seems like most people on here only really run into problems when they switch heads or the cam. Someone with a chip will jump in here soon and give you a better idea. But if your car is running fine then a custom dyno tune would probably be overkill for right now. But then again if you have the money why not?

I have a JET chip, and I love it. The general opinion on this forum is that they are crap, but it works for me. I'm in the same bolt-on only situation you are. I say go for it.

sorta sucks because i don't have a totally base run but with just a chip i saw/felt improvements.. Check my website for dyno graphs with just a chip.. The nice thing about a burnable chip is the next time you have some mods done you can have it tuned accordingly... the bad part is you have to pay the dyno center each time to get it re-dyno-tuned..
Another bad thing is that chips seem to do only so much.. I used to be all for chips but im seeing that there are some major down faults. For me it would have been cheaper just to buy a pms or tweecer right off the bat as many times i have been on the dyno.

BTW i have dyno time scheduled for monday... This time i will have a pms (due in this week) and im having AFM tune it... Really curious to see what kinda results i can get from just a good tune?

Not to steal this thread but I have a jet chip and i didn't notice a difference, when you installed your chip how did you clean the part it goes on to because i couldn't get that sticky crap off so I just plugged it in.
