Jingle just behind the firewall?

Normally happens at 2,000 till 2,200 rpms under a slight "lugging" load. Meaning, if I shift into 2nd prematurely and the engine will lug at 2,000 rpms. There will be a slight "jingle" just behind the clutch pedal in the engine bay. It almost sounds like a loose washer jingling like crazy.

Anyone ever come across anything like this? I've never done any clutch work and that's pretty much the only thing behind the firewall by the clutch pedal, right?

I have the same exact problem at the same rpm in my 03 gt 5sp. It sounds like marbles in a can around 2,000 - 2,500 but only under a load. I got underneath the car and banged on the cat's a bit, turns out the passenger side one has a rattle. My car is out of warranty but the cats and other emmissions stuff is warrantied by ford for 8 years 80,000 miles. I took it in last week and they ordered all new cats to be installed this weekend.

Not sure if that's your problem but it's a good place to start. It did come from the same spot you refer to.

same freaking issue, mines at 1800 rpm ONLY no more or less, sounds like marbles against something....but only when im driving, cant duplicate it by just getting on it in the garage or in N

Same here. Only under a load at those same rpms, which makes it VERY hard to debug as I still can't find someone who would volunteer to be strapped to a crawler and hang from the K-Member while I drive around.

Are you running a stock mid-pipe?

ive got the same problem as you guys but im runnin an slp x with cats. and ive been looking for a person who would like to be strapped to a crawler while i drive around as well. So if you want you can be the one strapped to teh crawler while i drive around and maybe that will diagnose both of our problems.

Well didn't we just throw an f'ing wrench in our theories. :rlaugh:

What the F could this mild jingle be?! SVT Tech? Any ford techs in here ever get this?!

dang and we thought we were on to something.

oh and whyask thanks for volunteering but due to finacial problems i will not be able to give you a novi 2k out of this. instead what you will get is teh satisfaction of accomplishment.
