Jr. to Drive #5 car for Hendricks Next Year

I want to see what all these gordan haters are going to do when JR/Gordan are bumper to bumper pushing each other down the straight at Daytona/Talladega

LOL...My thoughts exactly. I don't give a crap about Nascar, but I think Jr. going to Hendrick is awesome.

I never understood why the rednecks hated Gordon but liked Jr. They always said Gordon got where he is because of his Dad's money, but what does that say about Jr.?

The funny thing is Jeff Gordon and Dale Sr. were business partners, and owned companies together.

I just don't get it...

Jr. stuck between those 2 butt pirates Gordon and Johnson. Yikes. He must be that desperate to win a championship.

According to Nascar.com they're 1st and 4th, and he's 14th in the Cup standings. Maybe being a butt pirate is what it takes to win. On top of that, maybe you have to want to be a butt pirate to enjoy and follow Nascar.

But aren't there "redneck beer drinking NASCAR fans" everywhere? I mean just sitting outside with a shirt on I get a red neck. At that time, I'm usually consuming some drinks so I fit the mold too?

I never liked Gordon but I do like Jr. I like that he wants to win and that he seems more down to earth than some of the other egotystical drivers on the circuit.

Sure are! Thing is NASCAR was predominately a Southern sport for many years which accounts for the over abundance of rednecks who follow it. Throw a pretty-boy driver from California into the mix and you're guaranteed to have some friction from the die hards. Thing is now that Juan Montoya has moved into NASCAR his constant crashing and taking out of other drivers has made him a target and thusly reduced or redirected the hate normally reserved for Gordo.

Simple. Gordon is from California and Jr. is from North Carolina.

California = gay tree hugging hippies
North Carolina = redneck beer drinking NASCAR fans

I hate a lot of the liberal garbage I hear about going on in the west coast states. But I have never heard Gordon say anything remotely liberal. The only time he'd worry about conserving fuel is during a race.

As far as the pretty boy comment, I can see the difference between Gordon and Sr. Gordon's younger so he had a better sense of style, as opposed to Sr. who, like a lot of rednecks, was following '80's trends well into the end of the '90's(like Gargoyal sunglasses).
But Jr. is a young guy with some style, and I bet if most rednecks ever saw him going into a club they'd be calling him a pretty boy too.
As far as attractiveness, as a guy, I have no opinion. Maybe that's why the rednecks don't like Gordon, cause their wives had said he's better looking than them.

open wheel driver going to Nascar...sounds like a movie...hmmmm...OH-YEAH! Days Of Thunder...again, with a gay pretty boy from california that wins everything...lol

Since I don't really follow that closely, I'm almost the same way. I just don't like Tony Stewart because he'll ram people, but when he gets hit back he turns into a whiney bitch.
Stewart to a lesser extent but I can't stand the Busch brothers. I respect Gordon and Johnson but sometimes they can be a little hypocritical. Other than that I'm a happy boy.
