Since every other day someone asks what she will run, can we make a sticky of several tried and true combos that people have. And post the times with what combo and make it a sticky..
I mean im sure so many people run the same combos that we can add slips together and get an average time per combo. Hell ill even take time out of my day to make the sticky..

I had thought about that before but here's the wrinkle....

All too often, folks look at the engine build and think to themselves, "I put down that kind of power so I must also be able to run those times!"

Soon, we have a forum full of single digit quarter mile times from folks who've never laid eyes on a race track. lol

We DO already have a dyno thread. If folks want to post their quarter mile times with their dyno, I'd be more than happy to include those in the dyno thread. Just please be sure to list all suspension mods along with engine mods. That includes tire brand, size, and type.

I think it would be sweet to see all of the different track times that come from cars with similar HP figures.

Anyone thinking about this though... you MUST include a time slip along with your dyno sheet for the dyno thread.

I don't (I don't think anybody does) need a couple dozen pages of SOTP time slips.

Thats along the lines of what i was thinking... Except not too many people have been to the dyno. So we can have poeple list engine and suspension mods along with their timeslip..

Let me think on that one RsStang... 5oh folks, feel free to weigh in on this and tell me what you think of having combos, mods, and time slips with no dyno sheet in our dyno thread.

I've always thought that dyno slips were kind of arbitrary but it "IS" ultimately what we're striving for in a lot of cases.

You guys let me know what you think.

Yeah... send me list of all your mods and a hosted image of your dyno sheet and I'll add it to the thread.

I say if we're going to post track times as a reference for a -this build ran this time- kind of resource then we should back it up with video and time slips or at least try, also we should talk about what else is done to the car to make it run that fast.

I've seen 300hp Mustangs run 14s and i've seen 300hp Mustangs run 11.90s (well, only one ) ....it's always more important to look at the car as a whole than it is just the engine.

The only problem that I see with the video portion is this:

Over time, links become dead. So far, the stuff that has been sent to me for the dyno thread has been "re-hosted" on a reliable source. I don't know that we'd have the same capability with videos but I'll check.

There's nothing worse than going into a thread with dynos and time sheets and videos, where half the links are dead due to age or lack of maintenance.

im down for the timeslips/video/mods thing. most of us on here probably havnt been to the dyno, therefore the other way would be more interesting....at least to me since i dont have any dyno numbers to compare, just parts and experience.

Time slips are a good idea. The more data, the better imo.

IMO if you want to know what your car runs....or if someone ask's and you want to be able to tell them....Go to the track and get proof on what your car will run in the 1/4.....not "well a guy with close setup as me ran a 12.2....maby he has made 1000 passes and can make a stock mustang run a low 13 but if someone else ran it the could only get a high 15..Just my 2 cents
