Hey guys, just got my hands on a 99 GT for dirt cheap. Car is in pretty good shape, just a few little things that are bothering me:

First, the car leans in the back on the drivers side, looks tilted when looking at it from behind. Has Eibach lowering springs on it, were there when I got it. DO springs cause a car to lean? If so, Ill just throw the stockers back in.

Second, the drivers seat feels loose, tilts back and forth. Bolts in the floor are tight, what else can cause this and how can I fix it?

Third, the car makes an almost metallic sounding "thump" when letting the clutch out, is this bad U-joints? I think thats what it was on my 91 5.0, but I forget. If not, what would it be?

Any help appreciated, its good to be back in a Mustang!

sounds like you got what you paid for.

It's possible the springs are not even. Just swap in the stock springs if you want.

The driver's seat probably has a busted support somewhere. I suppose you could fix it by welding the support.

Does it thump if you are sitting still and in neutral? Or only when you release the clutch in gear?

Seriously, I'd take it to a dealer shop and ask about those three things, and get an estimate. Might change your mind about the "great price" :)

Don't listen to 40 oz. It could be the clutch letting go. Does the clutch evenly distribute power. Or does it grab at the end. If it grabs at the end it can make a clunk. Could be loose motor mounts too. Good luck. The best rides are the ones you fix up.

You can rotate the springs around to get different ride heights. The pigtails are all supposed to face one certain way, but you can sometimes get better results by turning them in increments, driving a bit to let them re-settle, and checking again. As for the seat, see if the seat itself is still good and attached to the seat frame. if it is, make sure it's not some crazy rotted floorboard. As for the clunk, welcome to T-45hood.
