Just broke my T-5 Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

t-45 is barely any stronger, i remember it being 330ftlbs of torque over the 300lb torque rated T5's, supposebly tremec just made some revisions and an internal bell housing but basically still a T5 from what i hear..... When my friend 1st picked up his 96 Cobra with 60k,70k on the car it wouldn't even shift into 2nd gear. Only 5speeds worth having in a stang is a TKO or a Gforce , in my book all the rest are crap and bound for failer

i went overkill on my tranny and got the tk600 when my car was almost stock because i went through two t-5s, now i have some power and the tranny seems like it loves to be beat on, couldnt be happier with my tremmec

That sucks! If I had to do it all over again I'd have a G-force in my car and not my TKO. That's not to say the TKO isn't strong because it is, but the G-force stuff has >10lbs LESS rotating mass according to Pro Motion and from everyone I have spoken with that has one it shifts nicer. The TKO's have been known for years to be 'difficult' when trying to shift them at high rpms (mine will NOT go into gear above 6100, but my dad shifts his at 6500!?!?). I always heard the G-force was like butter and could be shifted at high rpms... that was until my buddy Troy (yeahloh95 on here) and I were at the NMRA event at maple grove a few weeks ago and he got to talking with the Gforce rep there. He said that Troy may also have trouble shifting it at high rpms (above 5800 is what I belive he told him). I was watching some racing when he spoke with the guy, so I'll let him fill in the details as to what he was told so that I don't misinform anyone.

Man im having a real tough time making decisions. My friend just got a TKO-500 in his 98 cobra and its nice and quiet and pretty smooth shifting, arent the new TKOs supposed to be smoother than the older version? Also with a DOHC 4v he shifts at 6800rpm and hasnt had any trouble with it. THe G-force kit might still be cheaper even if i do have to get a new clutch disk and a rebuild kit, but the noisyness has slightly turned me more toward the TKO. I dunno guys.

I haven't experienced the new TKO's but the old ones like I have are NOTORIOUS for being NOISY! I lost ~1-2 tenths in the 1/4 when I went with my TKO FWIT... Walt tells me that the G-force wouldn't have done this to my times.

Well after crunchin numbers heres what we got
G-force
kit-1095.00
rebuild kit- 169.95
spec 1 26 spline clutch disk - 119.00
total:1,383.95

D&D TKO-500 set up
TKO-1559
Bell Housing - 169
31 spline yoke - 75
DS spacer - 49
Tranny Fork - 39
total: 1,891

Looks like even with the new clutch disk that the g-force is a better deal, 508 bucks i a big difference i might have to put my name on the list for the Gforce cause they said its on back order.

I have experimented a couple times shifting my G-Force at 6k and it feels like the stock T5 up there. What could the be the issue (mechanically) with shifting at that RPM? Is the issue with powershifting?

Here's a post by Sick89Coupe on Corral. This car has the synchronized, helical cut G-Force in it. It looks like he's shifting at 6k...
Here's some in-car vids and they speak for themselves....people have argued that it's the dog-ring straight cut version because he shifts so fast. They cant seem to grasp the fact that he is doing it with a regular helical cut synchro version....what can I say the dude can drive
