I just threw one together today to see how hard it was, and it was easy.... the only thing there is one 'tight' spot in the bearing during full rotation. I can only imagine while in use on the car, you would see a maximum of 30 degrees full motion, so I dont think it would be a problem.

Anyway, it was just a 'dry' run and I will end up making another set, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I feel it might be caused because the fit inside the tubing was a bit tight... I will have to open up the next one a bit more.

Any opinions appreciated.

I have the same thing with mine. Even after honing and honing the journal the bearing still had to be tapped in. Too much heat I'm sure when welding. Only really noticable on one of mine but it actually got better after I peened the outside edge to hold in the bearing.

Just my experience...

I wasnt so worried about noticing it while it was operating on the car... but more along the lines of longevity. I can only imagine it will decrease the life of the bearing, but again... how much does it really move?
