Just Changed fuel filter OMG!!!!!

I JUST NOW changed my fuel filter, my car had about 55,000 miles and is almost 2 1/2 years old. OMG, I feel sooo bad for my car, when I took my old filter off, dark dark gas started pouring out of it. You all think I could have damage something in my car???? From now on, since I know how easy it is to change a fuel filter I'm going to chang mine every 12,000 mlies at least.

Ok, now for a different question. How do I flush my radiator?? I still haven't done that yet either. I know I've been treating my pony bad, I want to make up for it. Thanks guys.

craw underdenth your car, its right in the middle behind the fuel tank. I didn't even have to jack the car up to change mine and I'm lowered If you haven't changed your yet, change it now. ANd please don't pay anyone to do it, it WAAAYYY to easy.

Yeah, I once did this job on my old 5.0 and as I recall it wasnt as easy as I had hoped. Is it easier on the 99+? Any tips? Tricks?

Spring Clip tool. Get one at AutoZone.

Wil, have your fuel injectors cleaned as well at a shop. Using the red can haha

i changed mine at 20,000, and yes very dark gas came out of the filtered end, and when i tipped it the other way, the inlet end, light colored gas came out. so it's a very good idea to change these often, especially since it's so cheap and easy to do.

The little tool is called a quick disconnect....

It is not hard at all, but I would advise you to MAKE SURE and plae your finger over the hole when you disconnect it.......or gas in your face.......believe me

The radiator basically consists ot removing the bottom hose, and flushing plenty of water through it, to make sure and "flush" it........thats the easiest way to do it

the flush your radiator i guess its the same as on my 98... theres a plug you unscrew at the bottom of the radiator but be carefull to not tighten it to much when you put it back it's easy to break... i know been there....

oh and afterflushing put water and you can buy some product to clean and fill it, flush again and then you cann fill it properly

I changed mine last October when the car had about 36,000 on it. I don't know if it was the original but I am willing to bet it was. The gas was dark on one side. I would not worry too much about it. They can clog and you won't get fuel to the lines. I changed the one in my 89 around the same time and the fuel was clean on both sides. The previous owner must have been on top of it. I don't know what special tool you need. The only thing I remember using both times was a flat head screw driver to loosen the screws and then to pry out the retainer clips.

Wear goggles and have a towel. No matter what, gas is coming down.

My 70 Coupe's fuel filter had 125k miles on it. When I dropped the tank, the filter on the sending unit was pitch black and I literally peeled it off.

Motor ran better after I refreshed everything, for some reason.
