Just got back from dealer, running rough.

I'm sure they reuse the gas that was in the old tank. That's why I only left 1 gallon in the tank when I brought it in for the tank swap!

most techs remove the gas from the tank with a "gas buggy" this thing sucks the gas out into a tank that has had gas from many different cars in it. I have seen techs in my shop put diesel in ours!!!!!!!!! So I will not use our buggy anymore..

hopefully you did not get some fuel contamination from when the gas was emptied from the tank then put back in.

What do you do with the leftover gas.

What you might try is to document every time your clutch sticks and include what you were doing at the time that might cause the problem. You might also include situations where a safety concern might be involved eg. intersections, on/off ramps. I think if you show your concern to them on paper they may they may get the feeling your very serious and do something about it because their butt is now on the line.


I used documentation for my skipping cd player, not mentioning the tsb involved, and they changed it no questions asked. Whether or not the paper had any bearing I can't confirm though.

I have had a problem with my clutch since it was new. If my car is on a slight incline and in first gear, when you push in on the clutch the car will not move. then if the gear shift lever is moved (semi forcefully) into neutral you can hear a pop as the transmission releases pressure from the driveline and the car rolls. I have brought mine in several times for this and have gotten the "Cannot duplicate customer concern". SO last time I brought it in, I duplicated it for two service writers so that there would be no question. Well I get it back and get the same "cannot duplicate". So I emailed svttech76 about my problem and he confirmed my concerns. Thanks Mike. Yesterday I went back to the dealer and this time I just went in and got the service manager who is familiar with my concerns, and I take him out and duplicate my problem for him. ( what I did was when I got there I parked the car in a position That I knew would easily duplicate the problem) He immediately confirmed my concern and asked if I would like to leave it with him right then so they could get started, and a free loaner car to boot. This Service Dept. has really been great and they are taking care of me. It just took alot of persistence and frustration but it goes in Monday for the fix. I feel it is a bad slave cylinder but I will let you all know!

it usually stays in the buggy, thats why I will not use it.. I rather toss the customers gas then contaminate there fuel system.

I figured it could be recyled if at all possible?

would you want gas/diesel mix run through your car???


When this happens I dump it out into our waste oil.. this is ok because gas is expected to be in waste oil, because many times when a car has a serious misfire you will have gas mixed into the oil.

If diesel or unknown fuel is in the buggy and we have a spare filter I have emptied the buggy, cleaned it and then change the filter..
