just got new truck

well i was up at the auto auction and found a 95 S-10 4 cyl 2wd automatic with 111K not in to bad of shape, got it for $1400.00, the only thing i dont like is the color (purple ) gona call it my gay-10

well i am going to get it painted probobly after this winter... im thinking about black or maybe white. then eventually i might drop in a 4.3L and lim slip rear end with 3.55's or something, (its my DD and i dont wana kill my gas mileage)

Damn thats one slow truck. 0-60 takes minutes, not seconds.
I had a 4 banger automatic Ranger and it took forever to get up to speed.

Thats the only thing i dont like about mine, its a beast offroad...but if you plan on fourwheeling all day better bring some more gas.

My '96 Blazer with a 4.3 got 15 mpg. My brother had a '95 S10 4x4 with a TBI 4.3 and got 20+ mpg. The newer Vortec motors are bad on gas and they like to pop intake gaskets.
Mine did at 117k and then the motor went at 123k.

Good DD. I wouldn't put any money into it if I didn't have to. The color is fine - it's a sacrifice that is worth it to not put miles on the stang.

i have a 95 s10, 4.3 with a stickshift and it gets 23 MPG. they make great DD rides and 23 mpg isnt bad compared to the mustang.

there was a kid up here who got a 15.6 out of his 4cyl s10 by slapping on a 15g turbo and that was a mile high up in the air!

edit: come to think of it, my old boss at grease monkey had a 2wd s10 with a rebuilt 4.3, spiced up with a few things like exaust and what not and could only get a 17.4 out of his.
