Just installed Steeda Pulleys, got a noise now

Hola!

So I just installed a set of Steeda pulleys. Im getting a whistling noise from the car now. I havent let it run that long but (being the paranoid type) I'm afraid I did something wrong here...

I torqued down the bolt on the harmonic dampener to what the sheet said but I'm afraid I may have over did it, is that possible?

The idle is still smooth and I took it for a little test ride, nothing far and I havent gotten into the gas yet. Nothing seems to be abnormal there.

any suggestions on the whistling?

whistling? is it more like a sqeaking? can you tell if it's a rotating mass? i said screw it on the torque thing and finally used and impact wrench after trying to use the wheel bearing technique of half turns the turn backs - wasn't too tight, was perfect.

yup i have steeda U/D pulleys ( people need to stop spelling it pullies) i do have a squak but its from an idler pulley that i need to change un realated to the U/D. If it's a whistle sounds like it could be the belt if its related to the puleys at all, drive it for 15 mins and let it warm up then check for the noise. Once you do re post and ill see if i can enlighten based on the symptoms

aditionally if anything it probably isnt the crank pulley since u'd notice the vibration from it being torqued wrong i believe; or the altonator cuz it has like 4000 lbs of torque on it. If anything check the water pump pulley in the middle with the little 6 or so bolts.

only reason i say to drive it for awhile is cuz for me the squeaking goes away after like 15 mins or so from the idler pulley expanding and becoming more tightly fit, it it stops it might be in fact a tightening problem - but who knows. If i could lay under you block while you revved it i could probably tell you exactly what it is cuz iv spent a lot of time around that area eleviating probs.

Awesome, thanks for the tips.

I havent got the alternator pully on yet. My air ratchet doesnt have enough balls to break the bolt loose! I think I'm going to stop into a local shop and see if they can throw it on quick if I dont have any luck tomorrow morning.
