Just ordered an 06 GT 5spd!

It's black with the dark charcoal interior with red leather. Other than that it's just a base gt coupe with the bullitt rims. 6-8 weeks for delivery. Hopefully it will be in before April and the fun ford weekend in Commerce, Ga

My near future plans for mods include springs, shocks/struts, cc plates, axel back exhaust, mid pipe, maybe some gears on down the road but that's about it.

Why would you order a GT now???If you waited to the 1st week of March you can order a 2007 GT and have it early July.......Hope you get the car in 8 weeks but I really don't think you will see the car if yea lucky till June sometime.................JT

I was going to ask him the same thing until I saw he wanted it in April. For an 07 he'd have to wait till Sept and there goes having it for the summer. I can understand that. And Red interior IUP on a black GT isn't so easy to find. I coudn't get one in CO anywhere and the ones they have now have been customed by the dealer for big $$$.

I've waited long enough. By ordering a 06 now I have the car for spring and summer instead of late summer early fall. And finding a 5sp coupe in the exact trim you want is difficult. The guy who sold it to me is a good friend and is letting me have it for invoice ($25,300). As rare as 5spds are, other dealers may not be willing to sell off the lot at invoice. I actually could have bought a car identical to mine the day I ordered on the same lot, except it had a tan interior with cloth. BTW the car only stayed on the lot about 6 hrs! They have auto's that just sit and sit, but not the 5spd's.

No I am not a dealer are yea? I don't know why you are indicating that I am out for myself, because I am always willing to help someone out on the site with a question about ordering or plan prices etc. As a matter of fact, I think that the dealership I work for is extremely fair for the following reasons:

We did not add an addendum to any of our 05'-06' GT's
Offered to order on any plan
Plan a car even if it was sitting on our lot
Have been special ordering for 1 1/2yrs now with avg. wait of 6-8wks (after IUP issue was cleared up)

Not too mention that out of 4000+stores, the dealership I work at was in the top 40 for the year in overall sales, Top 20 in new car sales, and if you break it down further top 10 in mustang sales.

Is there a reason to wait until 2007? Only thing I know of that is supposed to be different is some colors.

I almost bought a 2006 GT today on A plan. They found a car on another lot that they wanted to transfer over that fit my build. We were checking on the color of the IUP panels. If they are charcoal, I could have one next week!

Blacksheep, I ordered my 06 GT on 12/29 from a small rural dealer that does not sell many stangs in sw ohio. I was just given a build week of 2/20. The dealer told me 6-8 weeks, i guessed 12-16 weeks, it will be right in the middle of those 2 guesses. So don't listen to negative people, you'll love the car. The wait will be worth it. If not you can a be negative person and end up with a car that is the wrong color and tranny.lol Oh and ttbit you are correct but, he has been banned before. Lets continue to make this a positive forum. There are some that have great info. And there are others...

Only the salespeople will tell yeaaa no such thing(3 weeks we will know whos telling the truth}
And they will start to built them early June and the First cars will be late june early July for some of the lucky dealers....
Last year it was late June for orders and late Aug for the dealers to start receiving the Stangs.
Now the smart people if the want to look around or be lazy will be able to find the Stang that they want on a lot in the Color or whatever they want if they want to look abit.
I feel ordering now will be not too wise,but if you really want one go on fords website and check out all the dealers that have over 10 gts in stock and I am sure you wll be able to get it at INVOICE and you will not need a X-Plan.
Yeaaaa see that there are dealers on here that will not tell yea the truth and will hide what they really know if they know anything at all.....

BTW, I could take an order on an 07 right now and hold it until the orderbank opens. So technically using your theory, you can order an 07' right now.

I bought mine last year nimrod. All my info is based on what I did last year. I never claimed to know more than that but you have. I know about what happend last year. YOU freaking claim to know a different story for this year but instead of just listing your source for this information you want to play games. I never even said you were wrong once you made the statement but what am I suppose to think when you can't give a source for the info?
