Just ordered my Kirban FPR. Questions....

Well I ordered it from Ebay. I got it for 88.90 with shipping and insurance. Took three days to get here.

Do I have to buy anything else if I want to install this? How about If I want to change the FP? What do I set it at? My mods are in my sig.

I figure that I have to buy a guage to read the FP so which one do I buy? What else do I have to buy with it? I know in a couple of months I should have enough money saved for an ELECTRIC autometer fuel pressure guage ($180.00+) but right now I don't have it.

I am having idleing issues with my car now so I want to check/fix the FP.

you should have it all right there in the package if it is new which im guessing it is. make sure when you pull out the old fpr that you do it slowly, make sure all the fuel is not under pressue anymore and watch for the orange ring at the bottom of the "stem" from the stocker so you can reuse it for the new one.

i have a mechanical black autometer 2.5" gauge. dunno if you would want to use it to mount outside or just to check the f/p. it would also come with a cup and a mounting bracket for the outside too. only $45 shipped (sorry, worth a try)

and i dont know what people with nitrous should set f/p at either

40 psi will be fine for a 75 shot

Ok I'll look for the orange ring. Do other than the guage I don't need any other fittings to check and adjust the FP?

I didn't want a 2.5" just something to check the FP.

ok what do I set it at if when I go to the track and put in the 125hp shot? Also is it 40psi with the vacume off?

nope...its pretty simple to set. just undo the hex nut, use an alan wrench to turn in or out. always set with the vaccum off too. simple as that. i also think that like pepboys or something has cheap f/p gauges if you just want to check the pressure at idle.

Does the gauge hook up to the fule rail or to the AFPR?

I know 40 psi is good for up to 100 shot from reading up on the dry system I want, I don't want to venture a guess beyond that. Also, make sure to retard the timing 1.5 degrees for every 50 shot you use, ie 100 shot is retarded 3 degrees.

the gauge hooks right up to the fuel rail. think its called a shrader valve or something. passenger side by the #4 injector i think....i think. just screws right in there. they have lil permanent ones that stay under the hood right there on the valve so it doesnt stick out much.

I ran the same pressure on a 100 shot with 10 degrees timing.

Ok I did a search and some poelpe were saying they needed an adapter that went from the shrader valve to the furl pressure guage. Is that true?

I will set my FP at 40 with the vacume off.

Yup I needed an adapter that went into the schrader to connect to the gauge but mine came with it from BBK. I think you can get it at Home Depot but I'm not sure of the size. It is in a thread on here I remember someone asking before.

the adapter will come with the fuel pressure guage. just buy the whole kit. they sell them at every pep boys and autozone in the entire country. you're making a 3 minute operation seem like its a big deal.

Who wants to ride around with that kit in their car when all he has to do is get an adapter for $5. He already has a gauge to go under the hood that will stay installed.

i bought one of those fuel pressure kits and i dont keep it in the car. i only use it twice a year so it stays in a closet in my apt. who says he has to keep it in the car. he'll use it once to set the pressure and thats it. do you keep all of your tools, floor jacks, jack stands and ramps in the trunk?? no!! why should you keep your fuel pressure gauge and schrader attachements in the car?! the fuel pressure kit will stay in his garage with all of his other tools.

I just wanted to know what I have to buy to be able to check and adjust my FP. I got the Kirban now I want to install it and set my FP. I don't have a gauge yet so I will look at the kits. Again, I want to know what I need to adjust and set my FP.
